Most campers adjust easily to the full week and this is usually the best experience. The tuition and counselor system is organized to support that. Medical or other issues will be addressed on an individual basis as needed.
Telephone calls -in or out - are allowed. Please arrange with your camper's counselor if you have a specific time/day in mind, the number is: 360-732-7222.
Participation is voluntary and at the camper's individual pace and ability. We have adequate staff and volunteers and alternative activities at the ready. On-site or during field trips, we have games, books, toys and fun projects for those who choose or need something besides the featured activity.
In addition to verifying the application information and contacting references, a personal interview is conducted and a background check is completed through the Washington State Patrol. Counselors and staff participate in training workshops to ensure they are fully versed in the needs of our campers and have the skills needed to meet our high standards. First Aid/CPR certification is mandatory.
Rigorous attention is paid to camper safety, medical care and dietary needs. We have a Nurse Practioner on duty 24/7 and daily staff meetings are held to review each camper's needs.
Volunteers are vital to camp operations and assist in a variety of ways before, during and after camp sessions. Please complete the volunteer application and Washington State Patrol background check form and mail to us at P.O. Box 1227, Port Hadlock, WA 98339. The Camp Administrator or Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to schedule a visit to the camp.
Examples of ways you can support are: Provide a Campership, contribute money or stocks towards program expenses or our capital improvements campaign, or, donate products, goods or services. Consider a gift of love in the form of a charitable trust, memorial contribution or living legacy during your financial planning. Please call us for further information.
One of the best ways to become a staff member is to volunteer. This works two ways; you get to see if this is what you want to do and we get to know you and see how you fit in with us.
Please complete the employment application and Washington State Patrol background check form and submit with a letter of interest to the Camp Administrator. The Program Director or Camp Adminstrator will contact you upon receipt to discuss available opportunties.
