VOLUNTEERING

Volunteering at Northwest Kiwanis Camp

Volunteers are vital to our camp operation and assist with camp set-up, food service, recreational activities, maintaining the facilities and staff support.

  • During the 2007 camp sessions 105 volunteers from as far away as Utah contributed over 1100 hours assisting with:
    • Swimming at the Port Townsend Pool
    • Backcountry Horsemen and their trained volunteers in horseback riding activities
    • Fishing at Wildwood Farm by baiting hooks, netting and cleaning fish
    • Field trips to the Port Townsend Marine Science Center
    • Arts & Cratfs projects, nature walks, campfire activities
    • Nightime entertainment - musicians, magicians, clowns, talent shows
    • Food service, laundry, facilities maintenance

For Sessions III & IV this year, we are looking for individuals  to help with indoor and outdoor activities, maintenance and field trip assistance. If you have an hour or two to spare, please give us a call at 360-732-7222 or email us at nwkc@earthlink.net  A brief application must be completed and a background check must be done by the Washington State Patrol.
